Consultation Summary

It is proposed to introduce a 20mph speed limit at St Erme and Trispen and new restrictions on waiting in the vicinity of Kea School. In addition, new mandatory school keep clear markings at Penair School will be formalised to prevent vehicles from stopping or waiting at any time; disabled parking bays in Chacewater, Shortlanesend and Truro will be formalised/removed and amendments are proposed to waiting restrictions at various sites in Truro in relation to the previous Town Parking Review.

The Truro and Roseland Community Network Panel (CNP) has approved the following schemes involving regulatory changes within the community. The schemes have been nominated by town/parish and local members through the CNP.

Scheme Objectives

The 20mph speed limit is to address concerns of speeding and road safety in the St Erme and Trispen area.
The restrictions on waiting are proposed to improve access and to resolve issues of inconsiderate parking causing obstruction on the affected lengths of roads in Chacewater, Kea, Shortlanesend and Truro.
The mandatory School Keep Clear road marking in the vicinity of Penair School, Truro helps to improve pedestrian safety when there are likley to be large numbers of vulnerable road users at school at opening and closing times.
