Consultation Summary

The proposal includes the construction of a new pedestrian crossing with a central refuge as well as the construction of a footway where there is currently verge. The footway provides a link between 2 sections of existing footway to provide a continuous pedestrian route through the village. The new crossing will provide pedestrians with a safer method of crossing the road.  The new refuge will provide pedestrians with the option to cross one lane at a time, decreasing crossing time while improving safety.

Background:

This scheme originated from Cornwall Council and the local highway manager who identified the need for improved footway connectivity and a crossing in the area

Scheme Objectives

The purpose of the scheme is to improve the pedestrian safety and encourage walking over vehicle usage.
