Cormac Solutions Ltd on behalf of Cornwall Council is proposing to reduce the length of the existing separator kerb between the bus lay-by and A390 to allow buses to exit the lay-by whilst a bus is parked at the first stop.
The scheme is part of the broader Bus Service Improvement Project (BSIP) for the Truro A390 corridor. The objective of this project is to enhance bus journey times to and from Truro, thereby facilitating improved accessibility for non-motorised users. Additionally, it aims to promote environmental sustainability and align with Cornwall Council's ambition to achieve Net Zero Carbon emissions by 2030.
The objective of the proposal is to allow buses to exit the bus lay-by whilst a bus is parked in the first stop. During peak times this will allow buses to exit the lay-by without waiting for the first bus to un-load and load passengers.
