Cornwall Council intends to introduce a number of right-hand turn prohibitions, both into and out of road junctions with the A392 (Trencreek) between Morrisons Roundabout and Park An Dre Roundabout.
These measures are initially being implemented in the form of an Experimental Traffic Order (ETO) in order to establish the impact on traffic flow in the vicinity of these junctions and on the aforementioned roundabouts. The ETO will be brought into force on the 03/07/2024 and stay in force for a period of 18 months, whilst its effects are monitored and assessed. Following this, Cornwall Council will make a decision on whether to make these measures permanent.
It is not possible to submit a formal response to the consultation until the ETO comes into force. However, it is suggested that responses are made after the restrictions have been in place for a period of time to allow a considered response to be made. If you wish to object to the proposal, you must state your reasons for doing so.
It is considered that the introduction of these measures will improve road safety in the area, as well as reduce traffic congestion caused by long waiting times for the appropriate gaps in traffic required to complete right-turn manoeuvres.
